Bag Moths 87 and 88

a bit of a cheat today, I found this piece of drift wood that was just the right shape! all I had to do was pick it up.

A brunch of seed heads woven together, almost bag moth shape.

another drift wood tent

Me and Dad thought we could build a bigger tent today, not sure how safe it is so we made sure no one was around when we put the last trunk up.

Christmas Bag Moths

Christmas  Bag moths and stacks of drift wood on the beach

When I am at the beach that has lots of drift wood I love making drift wood tents, My son was playing in the water so my Dad and I made this tent village, you would not believe I was 42! we did get a couple of odd looks from people walking by! The flag is my sons trousers and some sea weeds.

Bag moths 81 and 82

I just can't leave that wire alone, this time with droplet beads glued on.

A knotted piece of bright green rope.

bag moths 78, 79 and 80

The other day while reading a book to by son we found out that the hard end of a shoe lace is called an Aglet, such a cool word. I then found an old shoe lace and made the 2 bags with it. one stitched and one on a wire.

This bag is just a curl of tracing paper.

Weekend Bag Moths and Today

73/100 bag moths a bundle of threads from some washed Calico

74/100 Bag Moths, a length of brown and gold braid

72/100 Bag Moths

I found some thin, bright pink wire in a box. It was not strong enough to hold a bag shape on its own so I used a base of the thicker wire. These wire bags are still my favourite.

Bag moth catch up

I have just got a new computer to I am now back on line and even wireless! I can hardly believe it all worked.
Here are the bag moths from the last few days while my old computer was having everything taken off and put on the new one.

69/100 bag moths

70/100 bag moths

71/100 bag moths

my 2nd sample of using traditional stitches in a more creative, this time herringbone to form a background, this time change of colour rather than thickness of thread.

67/100 Bag moths

I just finished sewing up a crochet blanket my daughter has made, Mums always get the best jobs! I thought I would make todays bag out of some of the left over wool. I am not very good at crochet, but I like the pattern that appears on the surface.

66/100 bag moths and a new quilt idea

Just plain calico with a nice frayed edge.
I saw some new Kaffe fabric at All Things Patchwork this week that would be perfect for a big skull so here is the drawing for a new quilt.

65/100 Bag moths

A coiled, twisted cord for todays bag. Just enough stitches to hold the coil together, I wanted the bag to look like it was just a spiral of cord.
I thought this one needed a close up too.

64/100 Bag Moths

Stem stitch holding a coil of cord into a bag shape. I am starting to think all of these would make very cool bags if I enlarged them, but how many bags do I really need and not sure long narrow bags are very practical! My keys would always be at the bottom.

63/100 Bag moths

No stitching today, a twist of fabric which had a small piece of vlisafix on the top so I just ironed it to hold the twist in place, fast and a very cool colour.

62/100 bag moths

I put wire round the top of this bag so no need for stuffing.
